Didier Lair Fuentes dies in fatal Keizer car crash
Fatal Keizer car crash death of Didier Lair Fuentes
The unfortunate death of Didier Lair Fuentes occurred following a significant four-car collision along Oregon’s major Interstate 5, an event that reportedly left the highway closed near the Woodburn exit for a duration of four hours on Sunday afternoon.
Oregon State Police reports indicate that the incident began when a 26-year-old individual, identified as Didier Lair Fuentes, attempted to enter southbound traffic on the freeway near Exit 271, located at the Woodburn area, at approximately 2:39 p.m.
According to law enforcement statements, Fuentes’s vehicle, a Chevrolet pickup truck, unexpectedly veered to the left and crossed into the southbound lanes. This sudden maneuver resulted in a collision with a Western Star semi-truck driven by a 36-year-old Canadian citizen.
The impact from the semi-truck led to it jackknifing across the roadway and subsequently striking a Jeep Grand Cherokee being operated by a 63-year-old man from Keizer. Adding to the scene, a southbound Toyota Matrix also traveling on I-5 narrowly avoided the primary wreckage but was damaged by flying debris.
Emergency medical services were summoned and transported Fuentes to a nearby hospital. Tragically, medical professionals pronounced the 26-year-old deceased upon his arrival at the healthcare facility. It is reported that the operators of the Western Star semi and the Jeep Grand Cherokee sustained no injuries, while the driver of the Toyota Matrix incurred only minor injuries.
