The Chisago Lakes Hockey Association confirmed the identity of one of the two young people who died when their vehicle crashed head-on into another on Saturday morning in Chisago City. The teenager, identified as 15-year-old Jax Affolter, was described as a cherished member of the local hockey community.
The association expressed deep sorrow, calling Jax “a much loved son, brother, friend and teammate.” They stated that as a hockey family, they are mourning the loss of Jax and are committed to supporting his family during this difficult time. The organization noted that his sibling currently plays for their youth hockey program.
In memory of Affolter, the association is asking fans across the state to show respect by placing hockey sticks and lights in their windows. Additionally, they shared a link to a Meal Train page to assist Jax’s family with meals during their bereavement.
