Law enforcement officials from the Granville County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the identity of the deceased individual involved in the fatal accident occurring Monday morning. The man, identified as Michael P. Henn, Jr., was pronounced deceased at the scene following the collision.
According to the authorities, Michael P. Henn, Jr., who was 38 years old, lost his life after his vehicle left the roadway and collided with a ditch on Brogden Road in Granville County. He was subsequently thrown from the car during the incident.
The Granville County deputies informed media outlets that Henn was driving along Brogden Road, close to the intersection with Hester Road, which is situated near Interstate 85 in Creedmoor. The accident, which occurred around 1 a.m. Monday, involved the car going off the road and ending up in a ditch.
Investigators noted that the initial impact resulted in the vehicle being displaced, with the driver ejected from it. The force of the crash reportedly sent him approximately 200 feet from the vehicle.
As a result of the crash, a section of Brogden Road was closed off and remained blocked for roughly two hours. Following this period, the authorities reopened the road to traffic.
Aerial footage captured by a local news source displayed visible tire marks and debris scattered in the area off Brogden Road, indicating the path of the collision.
