The Federal news service reported that two people, one aged 22 from California and another aged 21 from Florida, lost their lives in a plane accident close to the Erie Municipal Airport on Sunday, October 19th.

This tragedy occurred approximately three hours and thirty minutes into the afternoon by the runway at the Colorado airport.

According to a statement released by the local Coroner’s office, Niles Tilenius, who was 22 years old and from San Mateo County, California, and William Johnston, the 21-year-old from Hillsborough County, Florida, were the only passengers aboard the aircraft at the time of the incident.

The Erie Police Department mentioned in a social media post that the scene was distressing for some community members, and that both the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board were starting a full investigation to determine what caused the plane to go down.

The Coroner’s office has confirmed that the authorities are still examining the situation to find out why the aircraft crashed.
