Fatal Arlington car crash death of Tariq Muhammad
The incident occurred on October 26th at approximately 5 p.m. in the SW Green Oaks Boulevard vicinity, specifically within the 2400 block area of Southwest Arlington.
According to reports, emergency responders arrived at the scene to find that Tariq was operating an electric bike and had already been transported to the hospital. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the medical facility, as confirmed by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Investigators detailed that the pickup truck driver was in the process of pulling out of a nearby parking lot and turning onto SW Green Oaks Boulevard when the collision with the cyclist took place. The forceful impact resulted in Tariq being ejected from the bicycle.
The pickup truck operator immediately halted his vehicle, stayed at the scene, and fully cooperated with the ongoing investigation. Police have stated that no criminal charges will be filed against him in connection with this accident.
Additional findings from the probe revealed that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs and was not exceeding the speed limit at the time of the crash. He also suffered no injuries during the incident.
