Fatal Spartanburg County, S.C. car crash death of Charles Anthony Leslie II and Charles Darrin Smith
Officials confirmed the identities of the two individuals killed in the fatal vehicle accident that occurred on Old Furnace Road near Southland Avenue shortly before 3 a.m. on October 18th.
The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office reported that the incident involved a Ford Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) traveling eastbound on the road. The vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway, entered a drainage ditch, flipped over, and subsequently collided with a tree.
Both occupants of the vehicle, who were confirmed to have died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash, were identified. One of the victims has been identified as Charles Anthony Leslie II, a 40-year-old resident of Boiling Springs. His identification was officially released on October 19th.
The second individual killed in the collision was identified on Thursday as Charles Darrin Smith, who was 62 years old. Authorities confirmed that Mr. Smith, whose home address was unknown, was identified through fingerprint evidence found at the scene on the vehicle.
