Dallas authorities announced the tragic loss of life following a late morning collision. The incident occurred when a truck driver lost control of their vehicle, resulting in a pedestrian fatality in the Harry Hines Boulevard vicinity near Parkland Hospital.
Police reports detailed that 30-year-old Braden Taylor Richardson was unfortunately struck by the out-of-control truck at approximately 3:40 a.m. on October 11th. Emergency medical services transported the injured individual to Parkland Hospital, but despite their efforts, Mr. Richardson was pronounced deceased at the medical facility. The suspect, identified as 44-year-old Rocky Joe Sustaita, was apprehended by law enforcement officials at the scene.
Mr. Sustaita is currently facing charges of intoxication manslaughter while operating a motor vehicle. According to available information, he was released on a substantial $250,000 bond following his arrest.
The family of the deceased expressed their distress regarding the notification process. Justin Richardson, the victim’s older sibling, revealed that his family was not informed about the accident and the subsequent death until several days had passed since the incident. Furthermore, they were not notified after the suspect was released on bond.
