The U.S. attorney’s office has confirmed Kevin Sturgis, a 31-year-old man from Philadelphia, is the individual responsible for the death of Deputy US Marshal Christopher Hill. According to law enforcement sources, Sturgis initiated a violent attack on police officers while they were executing a warrant related to the shooting incident involving Shayla Pierce. The confrontation resulted in the fatal shooting of Deputy US Marshal Hill and left another law enforcement officer injured.
The suspect, identified as Kevin Sturgis, was ultimately killed by responding law enforcement personnel at the location where the incident occurred. Prior to the confrontation, Sturgis was known to have outstanding criminal charges, specifically two active warrants issued by the courts within the city limits of Philadelphia.
