Fatal Oglesby car crash death of Robert Daniel Allen Haig
Law enforcement officials have confirmed the identity of the man killed in a serious accident on the highway near Oglesby on Tuesday night. The deceased was twenty-nine-year-old Robert Daniel Allen Haig from Magnolia. The other driver involved in the collision was transported via helicopter to a medical center in Peoria. Both cars involved in the incident were carrying only one person each.
The vehicles suffered significant damage to their front sections following the crash, and authorities reported that one car was completely consumed by flames.
The La Salle County Coroner, Richard Ploch, performed an autopsy on Mr. Haig on Wednesday. The preliminary findings are still pending, with additional forensic and toxicology tests currently underway.
The Illinois State Police and the La Salle County Coroner’s office are examining the circumstances surrounding this incident.
