Fatal Pueblo shooting deaths of Bryce Woolery and Eric Torres

The Pueblo County Coroner’s Office has identified the two individuals killed in separate incidents that took place on November 1st. According to reports, the tragic events occurred within a span of about 25 minutes.

The first incident began with a gunshot detection system alert received around 2:24 in the early morning hours. This system, utilized by Pueblo police, registered approximately fifteen shots fired in the vicinity of Acero Avenue and Anasazi Street. Upon arriving at the scene, responding officers discovered Bryce Woolery, who was twenty years old, suffering from what appeared to be gunshot injuries. Tragically, Woolery was pronounced deceased at the location. This incident marks the eleventh homicide recorded in Pueblo during the year 2025.

The investigation led authorities to identify Darian Cocilo, aged twenty-five, as the person of interest. Cocilo was subsequently taken into custody at the Pueblo County jail, formally charged with first-degree murder. Following his arrest, he was processed through the jail system.

A short time later, just twenty-five minutes after the first alert, the gunshot monitoring system triggered again. This second alert indicated that twenty-seven shots had been discharged in the 1100 block of West 13th Street. Police personnel went to the location and found two individuals injured by gunfire. One of these people was identified as Eric Torres, also twenty years old. Torres was transported to a nearby medical facility where he later succumbed to his injuries. The second person involved in this shooting was reported to be in stable health as of Saturday afternoon.

Pueblo law enforcement has confirmed that these two shootings are currently considered separate and unrelated events. There is no indication at this time that they are connected or pose an immediate danger to the community.
