Fatal Waterbury Car Crash Death of 74-Year-Old Pedestrian
Waterbury authorities announced the ongoing search for a 24-year-old city resident, Jesus Gavidia-Vivas, who is wanted for involvement in a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred on Wolcott Street last month. The individual is being sought by the Waterbury Police Department.
In an official social media post released on Sunday, the Waterbury Police Department identified the suspect as Jesus Gavidia-Vivas. It is noted that the Traffic Services Unit is actively working to locate this individual.
Prior reports indicate that the fatal collision happened shortly before 10:20 p.m. on October 22nd in the 800 block of Wolcott Street. Emergency medical services responded to the scene and found a pedestrian in a critical condition, transporting him to a nearby hospital. Upon arrival, the pedestrian was assessed as being in critical condition before being admitted. Police have confirmed that the driver involved in the accident had already left the scene by the time law enforcement arrived. The identity of the pedestrian who suffered fatal injuries has not been released by authorities.
