Fatal Chicago car crash death of Joseph Chacon

The Cook County coroner’s office reported on Sunday that a twelve-year-old boy and two adults were involved in a fatal collision on the Dan Ryan Expressway early Sunday morning. Initial reports indicated that three people were killed in the incident.

Law enforcement officials stated that the accident occurred around 1:52 a.m. near the point where the expressway connects with Interstate 57. The three individuals were all inside a single motor vehicle involved in the accident. The cause of the crash remains unknown.

Further details revealed that the victims were identified as Joseph Chacon, who was twelve years old, Gloria Arias, aged thirty-four, and Gregory Chacon, fifty-two. These names were confirmed by the medical examiner’s office.

Due to the serious nature of the accident, road traffic was redirected off the Dan Ryan Expressway at the 95th Street exit. This detour was in place until approximately 7:30 a.m., at which point authorities reopened the affected lanes following their investigation into the incident.
