Fatal Cook County car crash death of Joseph Chacon, Gloria Arias, and Gregory Chacon
Medical examiners in Cook County announced on Sunday that three individuals, including a 12-year-old boy and two adults, were killed during a crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway early Sunday morning. The identities of the victims were revealed by the medical examiner’s office.
Law enforcement reported that the fatal accident took place around 1:52 a.m. near the interchange with Interstate 57. All three people involved were inside a single motor vehicle, though the cause of the collision was not determined.
The medical examiner’s office identified the deceased as Joseph Chacon, aged 12, Gloria Arias, aged 34, and Gregory Chacon, aged 52.
Following the accident, traffic control rerouted vehicles off the expressway at the 95th Street exit. Normal traffic flow was restored shortly before 7:30 a.m. after investigators finished their examination.
