BRUCE EDWARD PENCE DIES IN FATAL SWAN VALLEY MOTORCYCLE CRASH
Fatal Swan Valley motorcycle crash death of Bruce Edward Pence
Bonneville County Coroner Shante Sanchez identified the deceased individual as Bruce Pence, a 68-year-old Idaho Falls man.
According to records from the Idaho State Police, the collision transpired at approximately 4:56 p.m. on October 9th, located on U.S. Highway 26 approximately at milepost 372 within Swan Valley.
Investigation reports indicate Pence was operating a 1997 Harley-Davidson vehicle moving westbound at the time of the incident. The official determination notes he did not successfully navigate a curve and subsequently left the designated roadway.
Further examination revealed a 68-year-old female from Idaho Falls, who was occupying the passenger position, was transported via ground ambulance following the collision. Preliminary findings from responding authorities indicate neither Pence nor the female companion utilized motorcycle helmets during the occurrence.
Emergency response involved Idaho State Police units in conjunction with support from the Swan Valley Fire Department and the local ambulance service, which were dispatched to the scene. Pence received extensive medical care via air transport to a regional healthcare facility. He remained under the supervision of hospital staff until the unfortunate conclusion of his life on Wednesday.
