Sukanta Panda died in a fatal Sycamore Township car crash
The fatal car crash death of Sukanta Panda
Sukanta Panda, a 76-year-old man, passed away following a collision in Sycamore Township, Ohio. The incident occurred on eastbound SR-126 at 12:30 p.m.
A 2018 Lexus, which had a flat tire, pulled onto the right shoulder of the highway. This stationary vehicle was then struck from behind by a 2021 Peterbilt semi-truck.
The force of the impact caused both vehicles to leave the roadway and crash onto the right side. Inside the Lexus were Sukanta Panda and a 71-year-old woman. Both occupants were transported to Bethesda North Hospital. Sukanta Panda succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Peterbilt, a 59-year-old individual, received only minor injuries. He was treated at the hospital and later released.
Investigators have confirmed that all individuals involved were wearing seat belts during the incident. Preliminary findings suggest neither excessive speed nor the influence of alcohol were contributing factors to the accident.
