Fatal Hamilton County car crash death of Sukanta Panda
Hamilton County authorities have confirmed the death of a 76-year-old individual following a collision on the Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway, which happened on Monday. The individual was Sukanta Panda.
Sukanta Panda and his companion, a 71-year-old woman from West Chester Township, were in a 2018 Lexus. Their vehicle experienced a tire issue and was moved onto the highway’s right shoulder. Emergency dispatchers reported that both individuals were secured with seatbelts during the incident.
Shortly after stopping, the couple was hit by a 2021 Peterbilt truck. Both vehicles were subsequently pushed off the right side of the road. Emergency services, including EMS units from Sycamore Township and Blue Ash, were dispatched to the scene.
Sukanta Panda and the unidentified woman were taken to Bethesda North Hospital. Tragically, Sukanta Panda passed away from his injuries hours later. The driver of the Peterbilt was also taken to the same hospital, receiving treatment for insignificant injuries before being discharged. His identity was not disclosed.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this incident, which occurred on November 3rd. At this time, neither the speed nor the influence of alcohol is considered a contributing factor.
