Tyler Burkhart, Tabitha Freeman, and Trinity Tyler, all aged 15 and 17 respectively, died in a fatal car crash.
Fatal car crash south of Taylorville claims lives of Tyler Burkhart, Tabitha Freeman, and Trinity Tyler.
The Christian County Coroner, Austin Peters, identified the three teenagers killed in the incident near Taylorville on October 7th. Peters made the announcement on Facebook on November 4th.
According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal accident occurred on East Road 1400 near North Road 1100 at approximately 2:18 a.m.
The investigation into the single-vehicle crash is currently being handled by the Illinois State Police’s accident reconstruction unit along with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office.
Taylorville School Superintendent, Brandi Bruley, addressed the community via a Facebook post following the tragic event. She conveyed the heavy impact the tragedy has had on the school district, expressing condolences to the grieving families. Bruley urged the community to support those affected during this difficult time, emphasizing unity and the importance of thinking of the impacted families.
Bruley also mentioned that counselors would be available at all school buildings to provide support.
