The local fire authority in Hartford disclosed on Tuesday that a 58-year-old female resident of the city, who tragically perished, was Aida Shaikh. Her untimely demise occurred during a fire incident in a multi-unit residence located at Elliott Street, which was reported last week.
According to the head of the Hartford Fire Department, who is also the Chief of the Fire Marshal’s Office, the precise origin of the fire is still being examined by a collaborative group comprising the Hartford Fire Department, the Hartford Police Department, and state-level fire investigation experts.
As relayed by the chief, the fire incident began in a two-and-a-half-story, multifamily dwelling on Elliott Street in the city’s southern sector, igniting shortly after 10:30 in the evening. Upon arrival, the responding firefighters encountered intense flames engulfing the first floor, with the blaze rapidly spreading to the upper levels and the roof, necessitating an urgent request for additional personnel and resources. The chief extended profound sympathies to the victim’s family, friends, and acquaintances, emphasizing that thoughts and prayers are with them during this sorrowful period.
