Texas authorities have confirmed the death of a man involved in a one-vehicle accident near Armstrong on Monday morning. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) stated that 28-year-old Jordan Wampler, a resident of Indiana, died following injuries suffered in the collision. He was transported to an Amarillo medical facility.
The incident occurred on Monday at approximately 6:20 a.m., located two miles east of Washburn. According to officials, Wampler was driving eastbound on US 287 when he inexplicably applied his brakes forcefully and attempted to steer the vehicle, resulting in a loss of control. This caused the car to veer off the road.
The vehicle subsequently left the roadway, rolled multiple times, and ejected its unsecured driver. The crash is currently being investigated by the authorities.
