Law enforcement authorities have confirmed the identity of the Richmond individual who lost their life in a collision occurring on I-95 within Prince George County. Ozimisa, a 39-year-old resident of Richmond, passed away at the scene of the incident. Details surrounding the fatality were released by state police representatives.
According to official preliminary findings, an investigation into the accident indicates that the vehicle operated by Ozimisa was a 2010 Mazda. This particular model, often referred to as the Mazda MZ3, was documented as being driven by the deceased. The crash transpired late in the evening, specifically around 7:46 p.m. on Tuesday, at a location marked by the 37-mile point along Route 623.
The official report further explains that records show the vehicle was proceeding in a northward direction within the designated left lane of I-95. At the time of the incident, it deviated from its intended path, crossing the edge of the road. This resulted in the vehicle entering the central reservation area before ultimately crossing over into the opposing southbound traffic lanes.
Subsequently, this sedan collided with another large vehicle, identified as a tractor-trailer, which was traveling in the southbound direction through the right lane. Following the collision, the incident is currently being reviewed by Virginia State Police officials as part of their ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident.
