Fatal Clayton car crash death of Toluwalase Chidera Adams
The State Highway Patrol confirmed that Toluwalase Chidera Adams, who was 23 years old and lived in Clayton, was killed Tuesday night in Johnston County. The fatal accident occurred when his vehicle departed from Pritchard Road close to the Grande Overlook Drive area at approximately 10:10 p.m.
Investigators reported that Adams was driving south at a notably fast pace. His car then left the road, collided with a tree stump, became airborne, hit a tree, and flipped over. He was the only occupant inside the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officials stated that Mr. Adams was wearing a seatbelt during the crash. The investigation indicates that excessive speed was a contributing factor, although there are no indications of impairment by alcohol.
The traffic on that roadway was closed for roughly two hours to allow the troopers to complete their examination.
The State Highway Patrol is continuing their investigation into this crash.
