Fatal Mason County car crash death of Lydia C. Johns – Obituary

Washington State Patrol officials have identified Lydia C. Johns, 48, of Union, as the woman who lost her life in a single-vehicle collision on December 24 in Mason County.

According to investigators, Lydia C. Johns was traveling eastbound on State Route 106 near the Skokomish area at approximately 4:25 p.m. when the incident occurred. Authorities reported that her vehicle veered out of control and left the roadway, coming to rest in a roadside ditch.

Emergency responders pronounced Lydia C. Johns dead at the scene. State Patrol troopers later determined that excessive speed and driving under the influence were contributing factors in the crash.

Notification of her death was made to her family by the Mason County Coroner’s Office, officials confirmed.
