Cleveland authorities have confirmed that 35-year-old Emerald Vanderhorst was killed in a shooting early Saturday morning on the highway.

The incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. near the I-71N and I-490 split. Police and emergency personnel faced initial difficulties locating the victims due to confusion about the exact location.

Upon arrival, emergency responders found Vanderhorst deceased at the scene. A male victim, initially alive, was transported to Metro Health, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office officially identified the female victim as Vanderhorst. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
