Jeffry Scott Gorman, 66, was identified as the pilot who died when his single-engine plane went down in Lake County on Tuesday morning. Gorman was flying from Susanville, California, to Salem when the fatal accident occurred.
Gorman was the sole human occupant of the aircraft. His dog, the only other passenger on board, survived the crash initially but was later humanely euthanized due to the severity of its injuries.
Authorities from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
