Fatal Toronto, Ontario stabbing death of Marcel Cardiff – Obituary

Marcel Cardiff, 32, of Toronto, was killed in a stabbing incident on Friday evening, December 26, 2025, in the Joe Shuster Way and King Street West area.

Toronto Police responded around 8 p.m. to reports of a person suffering serious injuries. Upon arrival, officers found Cardiff with stab wounds and he was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Following the investigation, authorities identified a suspect. On Sunday, December 28, 2025, Matthew Brown, 37, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He was scheduled to appear at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre the following Monday morning.
