Fatal Tuscarawas County car crash death of Zachary D. Williams – Obituary

Zachary D. Williams, 20, was found dead following a single-vehicle crash in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, after being reported missing over the weekend. The deadly incident occurred on U.S. Route 36 near milepost 9 in Salem Township.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the westbound 2004 GMC Sierra driven by Williams crossed the centerline, left the roadway, and descended an embankment before striking several trees. Troopers received a report of a vehicle over the embankment around 11:01 a.m. Monday, and located the pickup at approximately 11:29 a.m. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.

Authorities noted that alcohol is believed to have contributed to the collision, and Williams was not wearing a seat belt at the time. The crash remains under investigation by the New Philadelphia Highway Patrol Post, with assistance from Tri County EMS, the Delaware Fire Department, the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office, the Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office, and D&S Towing.
