Fatal Tipton County home invasion death of Corey Webb – Obituary
Corey Webb, 22, has died following a violent home invasion in Tipton County on Monday night.
Deputies responded around 11:30 p.m. to a residence on the 2500 block of John Hill Road after reports of multiple armed intruders and a shooting. Webb was found wounded and transported to Baptist-Tipton Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators determined the suspects fled on foot and had planned to rendezvous with a vehicle. Evidence collected across the scene suggested the homeowner managed to wound at least one intruder during the confrontation.
Surveillance and searches at two Memphis residences led to the arrest of 20-year-old Aston Wayne Wolsefer and two teenagers, ages 16 and 17. Authorities recovered firearms, cash, and marijuana during the investigation.
All three suspects face charges of first-degree murder, especially aggravated robbery, and especially aggravated burglary. The teens are held at a juvenile detention center, while Wolsefer remains in custody without bond and is scheduled for a court appearance on Jan. 6.
