Fatal Pierce County, Wisconsin car crash death of Jena Klos – Obituary
Jena Klos, a 43-year-old resident of Ellsworth, lost her life following a serious two-vehicle collision that occurred in Pierce County. The crash was reported during the afternoon hours of Tuesday, December 30, along Highway 63 near 770th Street in the town of Trenton.
Authorities stated that emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at approximately 3:55 p.m. after receiving reports of a head-on collision. Investigators determined that Klos was driving a 2013 Kia Optima southbound when her vehicle struck a northbound 2012 Chevrolet Equinox.
The Equinox was being driven by 77-year-old Rodney Buck of Amery. After the impact, Klos was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Buck was initially taken to Mayo Hospital in Red Wing before being transferred to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for further treatment. His injuries were described as undetermined.
A passenger in the Equinox, identified as 77-year-old Betty Buck, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including Red Wing Fire and Ambulance, Red Wing Police Department, Ellsworth Fire and Ambulance, and the Ellsworth Police Department. The Pierce County Highway Department implemented traffic detours while investigators worked to document and clear the crash site.
