Fatal Minden, Nebraska car crash death of Saul Barboza Montano – Obituary
Saul Barboza Montano, a 45-year-old man from Minden, Nebraska, was killed in a deadly two-vehicle collision earlier this month that has led to criminal charges against an Indiana driver.
The crash occurred around 7:32 a.m. on December 8 near the intersection of Highway 10 and the 50-A Link in Kearney County. According to the Kearney County Sheriff’s Office, a GMC SUV traveling northbound on Highway 10 collided with a white Ford F-250 pickup that was heading eastbound on the 50-A Link.
Barboza Montano, who was driving the GMC SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities stated that he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. Two independent witnesses provided statements to investigators at the scene.
The Ford pickup was driven by Cory A. Rady, 30, of Indianapolis, Indiana. Rady and his passenger, Damian Wells of North Carolina, were both wearing seat belts and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. They were transported to a local medical facility for treatment.
Rady has been charged with motor vehicle homicide, reckless driving, and failure to obey a stop or yield sign. During a recent court hearing in Kearney County, a judge approved a modification of Rady’s bail, allowing him to return to Indiana under the condition that he waived extradition. A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for January 8, 2026.
The Nebraska State Patrol continues to investigate the crash as the legal process moves forward.
