Fatal St. Louis, Missouri shooting death of Albert Willis – Obituary

Family and friends of Albert Willis, 68, are mourning after he was shot and killed on Christmas Day at a St. Louis gas station. Willis, a familiar face at the BP station, was found with multiple gunshot wounds shortly after 2 p.m. and later died at a local hospital.

Loved ones recall that Willis had spoken to his sister, Scheron Courson, just hours before the shooting, inviting her to Christmas dinner—a gathering that tragically never happened. Witnesses told police that a confrontation involving Willis and a man and a woman preceded the fatal shooting.

Willis’ daughter shared that visiting the gas station was part of his daily routine, and that he had been battling cancer. His niece, Jordan Pippin, said he had always looked forward to returning home to celebrate with family. The family also suffered another loss in 2025 when Willis’ granddaughter, 29-year-old Trinity Staten, was allegedly killed in a separate shooting incident.

A respected car salesman in the community, Willis was remembered by his former boss, Danielle Windmueller, for his dedication and work ethic. Windmueller has launched a fundraising campaign to support his surviving family, which includes children and grandchildren.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the two suspects. The woman is described as Black, 27–30 years old, medium build, 5′2″–5′4″, light complexion with long black hair. The man is described as Black, 30–35 years old, thin build, 5′6″–5′8″, dark complexion with short-to-medium “twisties” hair.
