Fatal Orlando shooting death of Dennis Turner – Obituary

Dennis Turner, a 65-year-old retired Orlando police officer, was killed in a shooting at a residence on Kozart Street on January 1, 2026. Turner, who served the Orlando Police Department for 23 years, was found with gunshot wounds by responding officers around 7 p.m. and later died at a hospital from his injuries.

Authorities reported that the shooting appeared to arise from a family dispute. The suspect, 58-year-old Jeffery London, initially fled the scene but was later apprehended. London has been charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and is being held at Highlands County Jail.
