Fatal Tarouba shooting death of Gary Griffith – Obituary

Gary Griffith, 40, was killed in a shooting on Derek Murray Drive in Tarouba late Tuesday evening, police confirmed.

Authorities say the incident occurred around 10:55 p.m., just a short distance from Griffith’s residence. An anonymous caller alerted the E999 Police Command Centre after hearing a loud blast in the area. Officers from the Marabella Police Station arrived to find Griffith lying on the road with gunshot injuries.

Investigators reported that Griffith had been walking north along Derek Murray Drive when a white Nissan Tiida approached and its occupants opened fire, then fled. Three spent 9-millimetre casings marked “PAC 9mm Luger” were recovered at the scene.

Griffith was rushed to San Fernando General Hospital but was pronounced dead at 11:29 p.m. The Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region 3 is leading the ongoing investigation into his death.
