Fatal Killeen shooting death of Tai’Lynn Akaya Wright – Obituary
Killeen detectives have apprehended 18-year-old Jada Raquelle Levy, who faces charges of aggravated assault and murder in connection with the death of 26-year-old Tai’Lynn Akaya Wright. Levy is currently held at the Bell County Jail on bonds totaling $300,000.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on November 26, 2025, when authorities responded to reports of two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds in the 1900 block of Monte Carlo Lane. Upon arrival, officers found a man and a woman at the residence. The man, who was conscious, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Baylor Scott & White Hospital for treatment. He was later released.
The woman, identified as Wright, was found unconscious and was declared dead at the scene at 2:47 a.m. by Justice of the Peace Nicola James.
Investigators believe that the victims were inside the home when Levy fired a weapon from outside, striking them. Levy was arrested on December 31, 2025, and was arraigned later that same day.
