Fatal Cherokee County Alabama home death of Neely Brooke Williams – Obituary

Authorities in Cherokee County are examining the circumstances surrounding the death of Neely Brooke Williams, who was discovered inside a residence in the Rock Run community.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, emergency dispatchers received a call late Friday night at approximately 10:55 p.m. reporting that a woman was found unresponsive at a home along County Road 29 near the city of Piedmont. Law enforcement deputies, along with Spring Garden Valley Fire personnel and Piedmont EMS, were sent to the location.

When responders arrived, they located Williams deceased inside the house. Her dog was also found dead at the scene.

Cherokee County Coroner Paul McDonald stated that there are currently no indications of criminal activity connected to the death. Specialists from Jacksonville State University’s Center for Applied Forensics assisted investigators, along with additional experts from neighboring counties.

The coroner has classified the manner of death as undetermined. Family members were identified and notified late Sunday night. Officials confirmed that the investigation remains active as authorities continue working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the case.
