Fatal Whitehall Township bicycle crash death of Nickolas A. Siegfried – Obituary

Nickolas A. Siegfried, a 39-year-old man from Nazareth, has been identified as the bicyclist who died after being struck by a vehicle on MacArthur Road in Whitehall Township, authorities confirmed.

According to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, Siegfried was involved in a collision Wednesday afternoon along Route 145 near Sutler Drive. Emergency responders transported him to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest in Salisbury Township, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 2 p.m.

An autopsy later determined that Siegfried died from multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the crash. The manner of death was ruled accidental by Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio.

Whitehall police said the crash occurred around 1:15 p.m. and led to the temporary closure of MacArthur Road in both directions as investigators processed the scene. Officials have not released details about what caused the collision, nor whether the driver involved remained at the scene or is cooperating with investigators.

The case remains under investigation by the Whitehall Police Department, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, and the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.
