Fatal Aurora, Colorado shooting death of Diana Carolina Ruiz Buelvas and Ornaldo Enrique Para Ruiz – Obituary

Diana Carolina Ruiz Buelvas, 41, and Ornaldo Enrique Para Ruiz, 17, were killed in a targeted shooting at the Augusta Apartments in Aurora on Christmas Eve, December 24. Police responded to the scene near the intersection of East Colfax Avenue and Interstate 225 around 9:30 p.m., finding five individuals with gunshot wounds.

Two victims, identified as Buelvas and Ruiz, later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The other three victims, including a 42-year-old woman, a 41-year-old woman, and an 18-year-old man, were also hospitalized, though their conditions were not released.

Aurora police confirmed that the shooting was not random, but targeted, with the individuals involved knowing each other. The Adams County Coroner has not yet determined the cause of death for the victims, as investigations continue. No arrests have been made, and police are seeking tips through Metro Denver Crime Stoppers.
