Fatal Berlin Township structure fire death of Edward M. Siro Sr. – Obituary

Edward M. Siro Sr., 91, lost his life in a house fire on New Year’s Day in Berlin Township, Wayne County. Emergency responders arrived at his home on Bavarian Hill Road around 6:27 p.m. Thursday after initial reports of the blaze came in roughly half an hour earlier.

Coroner Edward R. Howell and Chief Deputy Coroner Mark M. James attended the scene to investigate the incident. Mr. Siro, who had been recently widowed and lived alone, was found near his bedroom and pronounced dead at 8:10 p.m. An autopsy is planned for later this week, with the official cause and manner of death still under review.
