Kenneth Ray Gipson, 66, was found dead following a crash on Interstate 85 Friday morning in Montgomery.

Police were dispatched around 4:43 a.m. on January 2 to the area near Eastern Boulevard after a report of a “subject down.” Officers discovered Gipson with injuries that proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Lt. Ernestina McGriff of the Montgomery Police Department.

Authorities have not confirmed whether Gipson was a pedestrian at the time of the incident. Further details about the crash have not yet been released.
