Fatal Waverly shooting deaths of Arius Thompson, Isaiah Thompson, Evelyn Johnson, and Heather Thompson – Obituary

Four members of the same family were found dead inside a Waverly home on Friday following a welfare check, authorities in Humphreys County reported.

Officials identified the victims as 4-year-old Arius Thompson, 13-year-old Isaiah Thompson, 88-year-old Evelyn Johnson, and 32-year-old Heather Thompson. Sheriff Chris Davis said the investigation indicates Heather Thompson fatally shot the other three before taking her own life.

The incident occurred at a residence on East Little Richland Road, with all victims being lifelong residents of Humphreys County. Officers discovered the scene upon responding to the welfare check.

Sheriff Davis emphasized treating the families with respect and compassion during this difficult time. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office as they continue to examine the circumstances of the tragedy.
