Marietta, Georgia Man Zuberi A. Douglas Arrested in Cobb County for Fatal Stabbing
MARIETTA, GA — Zuberi A. Douglas, a 50-year-old resident of Marietta, was arrested in Cobb County in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred on New Year’s Day.
According to the Cobb County Police Department, Douglas was taken into custody on Thursday following an investigation at the Millwood Apartment Complex on Pat Mell Road. Authorities say the incident took place on Jan. 1, when officers responded around 8:36 a.m. and found 47-year-old Jerry Sampson Jr. of Marietta suffering from a single stab wound.
Sampson was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said.
Douglas was transported to the Cobb County Adult Detention Center and is currently facing charges of felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.
