Fatal Bertie County, North Carolina shooting death of Tahlik Deloatch – Obituary

Tahlik Deloatch, 27, was found dead in his vehicle Saturday afternoon following a shooting in Bertie County, North Carolina.

First responders arrived just after 3 p.m. at the scene on Harrell Siding Road near Highway 11, initially responding to a reported vehicle accident. Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered Deloatch had suffered fatal gunshot wounds.

The Bertie County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who was traveling in the area between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. and saw a vehicle on the roadside to contact them at 252-794-5330. Calls can remain anonymous. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the ongoing inquiry. Officials have closed Harrell Siding Road near Highway 11 and urged the public to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
