[Gardner, Kansas] Man Kavin Moreno Arrested in Gardner for First-Degree Murder

GARDNER, KS — Kavin Moreno, a 34-year-old resident of Kansas, was arrested in Gardner in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

According to the Gardner Police Department, Moreno was taken into custody on Wednesday following an armed disturbance reported around 1:46 a.m. at a residence in the 16900 block of Walter Street. Authorities say officers responded to a 911 call reporting that a man had been stabbed.

Police said the incident took place shortly after officers arrived and found the victim, identified as 28-year-old Jason Rosado, suffering from serious stab wounds. Rosado was pronounced dead at the scene.

Moreno was transported to the Johnson County Detention Center and is currently facing a charge of first-degree murder. Court records indicate his bond has been set at $1 million.
