Fatal Troupsburg, New York car crash death of Jason P. Reisman – Obituary
Jason P. Reisman, a 44-year-old resident of Troupsburg, lost his life following a plow truck crash that occurred on the morning of January 1, according to New York State Police.
Reisman worked for the Troupsburg Highway Department, a role confirmed by town officials and details shared through an obituary released by H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home.
State troopers were dispatched to Grinnold Road shortly before 7 a.m. after receiving reports of a rollover accident involving a snowplow and a trapped driver. Investigators later found a 2024 Freightliner plow truck that had veered off the roadway and come to rest on its passenger side along the south shoulder. Authorities said the vehicle left the highway for reasons that have not yet been determined.
Emergency responders removed Reisman from the truck and transported him by ambulance to St. James Hospital. Police stated that he passed away while being taken to Hornell hospital, prior to troopers arriving at the scene.
The Steuben County Coroner’s Office has ordered an autopsy as part of the ongoing investigation into the crash. State police said the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under review.
According to his obituary, Reisman is survived by his wife, two sons, two grandchildren, and a large extended family that includes aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services for Jason P. Reisman are scheduled for 6 p.m. on January 5 at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, located at 1607 Main Street in Woodhull.
