A deadly stabbing in the early hours of New Year’s Day claimed the life of 28-year-old Jason Rosado at a home in Gardner, Kansas, according to local authorities.

Police said officers were dispatched at approximately 1:46 a.m. to a residence in the 16900 block of Walter Street after a 911 caller reported an armed disturbance and stated that a man had been stabbed.

When officers arrived, they located Jason Rosado suffering from severe injuries. Despite emergency response efforts, Rosado was pronounced dead at the scene, police confirmed.

Investigators identified 34-year-old Kavin Moreno as the suspect in the incident. Moreno was taken into custody at the location and later formally charged with murder in the first degree, based on court records.

Authorities have not released additional details about what led up to the stabbing or the relationship between the individuals involved. Moreno’s bond was set at $1 million as the case proceeds through the legal system.
