Fatal Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma car crash death of Kyleigh Hickerson – Obituary

Kyleigh Hickerson, 19, lost her life following a traffic collision near State Highway 9 in Pottawatomie County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Investigators said the crash occurred around 6:15 p.m. when a vehicle driven by a 29-year-old woman was traveling south on Bethel Road and entered the intersection at State Highway 9 without stopping at a posted stop sign. The vehicle was then struck by another car traveling eastbound on the highway, which was being driven by a 15-year-old.

Hickerson was one of two passengers riding in the southbound vehicle. She was pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained in the collision. The second passenger in that vehicle survived.

Authorities reported that four passengers were inside the eastbound vehicle driven by the teenager, and no fatalities were reported from that car.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol stated that both drivers involved in the crash suffered injuries. The incident remains under investigation as troopers continue to review the circumstances leading up to the collision.
