Fatal Howard County stabbing death of Nikitha Godishala – Obituary

Nikitha Godishala, 27, of Ellicott City, was found dead with stab wounds inside her ex-boyfriend’s apartment in Columbia, Howard County police reported.

Godishala was reported missing on January 2, and authorities discovered her body the next day in an apartment on the 10100 block of Twin Rivers Road, which belongs to 26-year-old Arjun Sharma, identified as her former boyfriend. Investigators said Sharma had reported her missing, stating he last saw her on December 31 at his apartment.

Police executed a search warrant on January 3, finding Godishala deceased. Officials believe she was killed shortly after 7 p.m. on December 31. Sharma now faces first- and second-degree murder charges, though authorities have not disclosed a motive.

Sharma reportedly left the country for India the same day he filed the missing person report. Howard County police are coordinating with federal agencies to locate and apprehend him as the investigation continues.
