Fatal Harnett County, North Carolina car crash death of Triston Amarion Pippins – Obituary

Triston Amarion Pippins, 22, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, was killed early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Overhills and Nursery roads in Harnett County, North Carolina. Pippins, a U.S. Army paratrooper assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol reported that Pippins’ Hyundai Sonata failed to stop at a stop sign, ran off the road, and collided with a tree in a wooded area before catching fire. He was the only occupant in the vehicle.

Investigators indicated that speed contributed to the crash, though it remains unclear whether impairment was a factor. Pippins had served as a parachute rigger at Fort Bragg since 2022, and his death has been confirmed by Army officials.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident that claimed the life of the young soldier.
