Fatal Austin shooting death of Aaron Armstrong – Obituary

Aaron Armstrong, an off-duty deputy constable with Caldwell County Precinct 3, was killed in a shooting at an Austin bar on Sunday, January 4. Armstrong, who had served with the constable’s office since October 2024, was found with severe trauma in the parking lot of Club Rodeo at 9515 North Lamar Boulevard.

Austin Police responded around 2 a.m. following a report that an officer from another agency had been shot. Armstrong was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead. Authorities confirmed his identity as a deputy constable.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Armstrong’s death is ongoing.
