Fatal Milwaukee car crash death of Izack Gravino Zava – Obituary

Izack Gravino Zava, 18, of Milwaukee, died early on January 4, 2026, after a high-speed crash while fleeing a police traffic stop, authorities confirmed. The incident occurred near the intersection of South 37th Street and West Mitchell Street, where the vehicle became airborne after hitting a roundabout, struck a tree, and rolled into a vacant lot.

Zava and his 19-year-old passenger from West Allis were both ejected from the vehicle. Zava was pronounced dead at the scene, with the Milwaukee Medical Examiner’s office ruling his death an accident. The passenger was hospitalized at Froedtert Hospital with serious injuries.

West Milwaukee police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
