Paul Nichelmann, 58, of Fresno, California, was killed Sunday afternoon after driving the wrong way on Highway 99 and colliding head-on with two other vehicles, authorities confirmed. The California Highway Patrol reported that calls about a northbound vehicle in the southbound lanes began around 2 p.m., shortly before the crash south of Clinton Avenue.
Nichelmann was driving a Ford Ranger in the far-left southbound lane when he struck a Ford Bronco, driven by a 24-year-old woman, and a Chevrolet Equinox, driven by a 63-year-old woman.
